I my husband and our son moved in with my brother a year ago. When we moved in with him we were allowed to stay until we got on our feet again. I and my brother do not get along very well. We had done a lot of work to my brothers house, over $20,000 WORTH FOR VERY MINIMUM cost to him so that he could get insurance for his house. We cook ,clean, wash his car anything he needs done we're in it for him so my brother has to do nothing, he pays the bills as he did before we came in to the picture. i.e. the eletricitiy has gone up $40.00 and the water $20.00 Now as I said we don't get along so, now he is changing his mind and says I have to leve and my husband and son can stay. I am disabled and awaiting SSI, my son has been going to middle school and my husband started a business, we are just now starting to pull out of our slump. My question is can my broyher split up my family and put me in the street? Please help I don't know what my rights are.

It depends on tenancy laws in your state state. It may depend also on whether you are considered tenants or lodgers. If you do refuse to move and he does take steps to remove you, I doubt that pending or current SSI will be a factor.

I would hope that your husband can have a heart to heart with your brother. It is very sad that you are expected to leave and he and your son stay. Try to stay clear and try to avoid argument while all this is worked on. It would be sad for it to reach the eviction stage.

Normally he can evict all of you, as long as your husband is being allowed to stay, he can allow you to stay ( normally, some states may have different rule)

I would say you are at the brothers mercy, so you go say you are sorry and make up and let him win arguments till you can move out. His house, his rules.
