Please help. We have frozen water pipes, pipes go through a cement block wall (not basement) and there is zero pressure on the gauge. Is it just frozen pipes we are looking at? Could something be wrong with out well. We really don't have the money for a plumber so we need to try and fix this ourselves.

We've taken a heat gun to the pipes where they are coming out of the wall, but that doesn't seem to help. My husband is worried because the pressure gauge is zero. He's afraid more than just frozen pipes may be the problem.

Anyone know?

Thanks so much for any help.

Samantha

Go out to the well head, can you tell if your pump is kicking in? If yes, try disconnecting the supply pipe close to the well head. What have your over night temps been and when did this show up with the pipes?

I'm sorry that you're in a tough situation and that you also cannot afford a service call, but a "no water" call on a well system will be very hard to diagnose over the internet. Stating first that the pipes are frozen, no gauge pressure, "Could something be wrong with our well?" tells us that you don't know enough about your system to even give the info we need to start. You may therefore get few, if any responses to your question. Too many things could be going on to even guess. The only suggestion that I can make is to try to find somebody who does billing/payments or even check with your local county services to see if there are charities that offer assistance. Here in Pittsburgh there are some churches that will help members in need of plumbing work. It never hurts to ask. Good luck.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. We will try a few more things and then perhaps call a plumber. It's tough being seniors and on limited income these days. But we'll be OK. It'll work out. Again, thank you so much!

Last night our temps went down to 10 degrees. We'll try tomorrow to see if we can tell if the pump is kicking in. Thank you!
