Hi there, my hair is naturally red; which I hate and have been dying it for as long as I can remember. Last summer, I decided I wanted to be peroxide white blonde... I bleached it every two weeks and decided that I would like something a little darker so I bought a chemist dye and it went GREEN and GREY... DISASTER!! I tried to dye it back to blonde but my hair was so weak from all the bleach it started to fall out. I then tried to dye it dark... and the dark dye would cover the roots but not the ends of my hair (because there was so much colour build up and bleach in the roots) so after leaving my faded hair for months, I went to the hairdressers for help. They decided to dye it reddy/brown... still not completely covering the bleached bits at the bottom! Have been doing this for a few months now and my hair is a lot shorter (a bob) and in a lot better condition. However, after my disaster I'm still DYING to have blonde hair again.
There is a lot of red in my hair and I know it would be a disaster to try and get to blonde from this colour, so my only option is to strip it. My hair is very dark at the minute, almost black with a red tinge. However, I'm not sure that my already very weak hair will be able to be stripped. HELP!

You obviously know the drawbacks and hazards from dyeing your hair too much and I actually would advise you not to dye it again for a while so that your hair can restore itself somewhat from all of the abuse. I might mention too, long term abuse this way and the downside is no hair or very sparce hair in your later years because your hair follicles will be destroyed.

How sad that you are willing to spend all that time and money to destroy your hair, all to be something most people would rather see in it's natural state. Red hair? I've never seen red hair that I didn't think was beautiful. Bleached hair? Ugly, fake, awful. Ever see an old woman after years of such abuse to her hair?
