I need you urgent advise please. I have dual citizenship usa / pakistan. I got married in pakistan , I sponsored my x.wife , after we both got us citizenship. She was living in pakistan for over one year and I was living here. I went to pakistan and divorced her. She came to usa and claimed that the divorce is not valid. The judge in Texas denied to accept the divorce from pakistan. After I got the divorce in pakistan I got married there. I am in a limbo now. Is there any ruling from previous cases to accept forgien divorces in usa. Or please advise me what to do. You help be hightly appreciated. Thank you A

You are in serious issue,

What was the judge in Texas's reason for deny divorce, are there children and custody and support issue ?

Where were you living at the time of divorce, if you were a resident of Texas, and living there, ( and just traveled to pakistan for divorce) Texas view would be that the divorce should have been under their laws.

Was there a issue in Texas over property settlement and perhaps spouse support ?

So at this point, you may not be legally married, I doubt they will try and arrest you for getting married, again, since you can prove you thought you were divorced.

But you will have to either appeal, the Texas court verdit, and you will need an attorney for this.

Or you can also merely file for a new divorce, get it settled here and get remarried]]
