I am not sure if it really does, but the result of my experiment indicates that it does. The same goes for acetone and acetophenone. Thanks. I really need to know.

Because aldehydes and ketones are neither acidic nor basic.

Do you know what causes acidity or basicity?

What causes acidity or basicity? Well I actually do not know the answer for this on ebut I'm going to go threw my notes and find the answer for you.

Um... you have the notes but you don't know them? How odd...

If this is from an organic chemistry course, then you should have learned about organic acids and bases before you learned about aldehydes and ketones. If this is from a biology or nursing chem course, then it's probably not necessary that you know why, but just that aldehydes and ketones are neither acidic nor basic.
