When I wrote service at GM, I noticed that there were numerous issues with those Instrument Panel Clusters (IPCs). A new service calibration has been released to correct this IPC condition.
In some cases, reprogramming cleared up all concerns but sometimes IPC replacement was the only fix.
Call your local GM dealer and explain your symptoms, then let us hear what they tell you.
Once you know how much fuel is remaining, you can address the stalling condition.
