I'm not talking about overdosing, I'm talking about taking too much to the point where it becomes unhealthy? Normal amount I would say would be 500mg per day right? So what if I were to start talking 2,000 mg per day instead? Or 1,000?

Basically what is the limit? And I am talking about per day. The amount where it is too much, therefor more unhealthy than healthy? I am 19 and am a male.

As it is a water based vitamin any excess is expelled from the body.
Taking too much can result in diarrhoea.

Everyone's limit is different, but I would say 2 grams a day, 2000 Mg, would be fine.
Personally I take between 4 and 8 depending on how I'm feeling.
A heavy cold can really drain the vit C so replacement is important..

Why not have a look for a high dose muti vit and cover all of the bases in one hit.

For adults, the recommended upper limit for vitamin C is 2,000 milligrams (mg) a day. Although too much dietary vitamin C is unlikely to be harmful, megadoses of vitamin C supplements can cause:

■Diarrhea
■Nausea
■Vomiting
■Heartburn
■Abdominal cramps
■Headache
■Insomnia
■Kidney stones
