I am considering subscribing to one of AT&T's DSL packages for my home computer.
Packages come with a self installation kit.
Is it difficult/complicated to perform this installation?
I have simple phone lines running through my house. Do I need special lines?
What problems should I expect?

Should be failry simple. You connect the DSL modem to a wall jack (if you have a phone connected to that jack you should get a line splitter) using a phone (RJ11) cable. Then run an ethernet (RJ45) cable from the modem into your PC. The kit should include the modem and cables. It should also include config instructions.

Thanks, Scott, for the information.

I will say that even I did it and I am stupid about computers. As Scott said, I pluged the moden into the wall, plugged my computer into it, I ran a disk that came with it, answered some simple questions, like my name and address and password, and it was online.

Thanks FR_Chuck. That's encouraging.
Guess I'll give a go.
