I had an Amana two stage heat pump installed with a Goodman two stage gas furnace. I have a Comfortnet thermostat and it omly uses the two stage heat pump and high side of furnace. What is the use to have a two s two stage furnace.

Are these 2 separate systems or a combo unit? Does the gas heat back up the heat pump?

Yes this a combination unit with the gas furnace as supplemental to heatpump that is set to cut off heat pump at 30 dedgrees and go on gas furnace

In many cases, 2 stage units are a selling point, not necessarily a big benefit to the buyer. Perhaps your unit is programmed to switch to the high stage when it calls for heat. Do you ever see it drop to the low stage? Computer may think the low stage is inadequate to heat the house. You may be able to get a technician to switch it to low only.

alreadyused, I have the same issue; have you found a way to force the furnace to run on low stage with heat pump energized? I manually cut power to heat pump below 25 degrees to allow furnace to run on low stage-what a pain. I see goodman has a new thermostat CTK02AA but can't find anywhere how many heat stages it controls. I have the CTK01AA and it states 3 stages.
