Hi members,
Need to to find a voltage converter/transformer from US 110v to use my US hair clipper in Europe 230v.
Any tips?
Thanks.

Have any friends on an American Military base? The PX or BX usually carries those... I am assuming you are in Europe right now.

Hi, first let me say thank you for responding.
No I don't have any friends on an American Military base.
I'm European, I'm from Portugal but this friend of mine went to America this last Xmas' and I ask him to buy me this Andis hair clipper.
What I've already read about is that you have some travel voltage converter/transformer that you can purchase to use (in this case) your own US 110 voltage clipper or any devices in other countries.

Let me Google that for you (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=120v+to+220v+converter)

You will need one that can both run electric motors and will run something of that size BOTH. Transformers are heavy and costly but anything up to its limit will run.
Another factor is the USA is 60hz power, Europe is 50hz... electric motors will run a lot slower as a result. Appliances like that has an a/c motor that is dependent on line frequency.
Transformers won't fix that and most if not all travel converters won't either. Simple Google search of "Travel Power Adapter" should give you possibilities that may be in Portugal. Try to size those about 50% higher than the clippers load rating because electric motors have a surge current at startup that far excedes its running current needs.
Unless you find one that can do a frequency conversion as well... just remember it may run roughly 20% slower than its designed for and may run hotter as a result.
