Dear Cynthia:
I don't know if you go to health food stores, but one of the causes of heavy flows is a deficiency of Calc Phos in the body. The human body is made up of 12 cell salts - they are the actual substances of the body. A deficiency of Calcium Phosphate is most often a cause a heavy of severe menstrual flows. This cell salt is available in most health food stores and should be about 8 dollars. It is a homeopathic and thus cannot harm you. A book by Doctor Skye titled Natural Healing with Cell Salts states to take 3 under the tongue every fifteen minutes if the condition is severe and it should slow within an hour or so. I have found great results with this years ago when I too had this issue.

As for pregnancy there can many, many causes of infertility in this age. From computer/microwaves/and all sorts of waves in the air to the toxins in the foods we eat. I can offer a few things that may help if indeed you are the person with the issue. First if the egg is not settling in the womb, drinking red raspberry leaf tea can be helpful for strengthening the womb so it can hold the egg. Consider this, but once pregnant stop using it. Also you need to pay attention to what you eat. If you eat black licorice - this can reverse the ability of a female to hold a child. Additionally and it goes for most without saying, avoid meats and dairy products by animals treated with hormones (BST) and antibiotics. The hormone BST had been proved to interfere with female hormone balance. Additionally avoid any processed meats because they are full of nitrosamines which interfere with the digestive tracts ability to use the nutrients. Avoid alcohol, coffee and other caffeinated drinks, artificial sweeteners.
Do drink purified water, make sure you are getting enough folic acid and B-12.
Consider the source of any fish you eat to avoid high mercury contents.
And most certainly do not smoke - anything or use any type of drug. If you are taking any drugs prescribed by a doctor, discuss this with your doctor. The same goes for your husband.

I am certain there are many more things that would be helpful. Consider EFT to help release the fears you have emotionally embedded so that your mind and emotional body will welcome a child. Traumas from childhood, some very memorable and others that may at first seem insignificant can cause a subconscious reaction to pregnancy. Visit Gary Craig's site at emofree.com for a free manual on EFT and more information on it to help you.

Also since you are on the internet, Google getting pregnant and read what doctors are saying about this today. You can go to your library too, and ask the librarian for any books that discuss or explain your concerns.

Finally you should seek out a clinic with doctors who specialize in birthing and pregnancy issues. Your husband should also consider this if you both have not done so yet.

Wishing you many blessings in your journey in life.
