I am a single father of two awsome kids. My son has lived with me for the last five years and my daughter the three, but in the courts eyes my son is the only one that lives with me. As of Dec. 20, 2010 the kids mother moved out of state with her boyfriend and no one has heard from her sience the 25 of Dec. I was offered a new job working for the State of Az. But I am not sure what to do when it comes to the kids because we share coustdy of them both and we can't find their mother anywhere. I had to file abandonment charges against her almost four years ago when she droped them off at my house with out me knowing and when I came how that night they were sitting in the house. I don't know if I can cross state lines with them with out her consent can someone please help.

What happened in the abandonment case? Why haven't you applied for full custody of both kids? How soon do you have to make the decision ion the new job?

My suggestion would be to move and, as soon as you have established residency in AZ file for full custody there. If she hasn't tried to contact you for three years, its unlikely she will try in the next 6 months (usual period to establish state residency). I would, however, leave a paper trail that you showed no contact and that you had no idea of her location.

Why don't you have custody of the one child and why is she not "officially living with you "

You need to file in court for custody, and file for permission to move.
