I replaced a self contained flush unit (flushmate) with the standard ballcock and flapper. I did not disturb the bowl and now there is no force in the flow from the tank. Also there is actually a hesitation in the tank before the water begins to flow once the flapper is open. Any ideas?

Hi Coetco...
You took a sloan flushmate toilet tank and installed a new fill valve and flapper, huh? Very creative, but I'd be surprised if the system works properly as the toilet bowl was designed to work with that high pressure flushmate reservoir. At least, I'm pretty sure it was.
I'd call the sloan company on Monday and talk to the technical department. I would love to know what they tell you on this... very interesting indeed!
Let me know what they say, OK?
Thank you...

Mark, your comment about the bowl being designed to work with the flushmate reservoir intrigued me because this is a Crane tank and bowl. The reason I was removing it is because the handle was broken and parts are apparently unavailable at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. I was able to come across a new handle through a local plummer and reinstalled the flushmate. Works fine now, thanks for your help!
