View Full Version : On SSDI and being evicted for no reason

I live above a business and the new owners don't like the thought of having tenants. I am on SSDI, I am current on my rent and have never had any problems. Since I am on SSDI, can I be evicted for no reason or anything I did or did not do.
I have heard that since I am on SSDI, it is the new company's responsibility to find me alternative housing that is around the same price I am paying for rent. I was given written notice to vacate in 90 days. I was forced to sign it, but I did note that I was signing it with reservation since I did nothing to warrant an eviction.

What can I do? What rights do I have?

THanks,

Nicole

Unless you have a lease that expires after the 90 days they are probably within their rights. As long as they decide not to rent at all.

I would consult with an attorney familiar with the ADA to see if there is anything that can be done, But I really doubt it.
