I have a neighbor that is harassing me. They are throwing trash on my property, ringing my doorbell in the middle of the night, verbally attached me, making up stories about me. I got a surveillance system and they found it the first day of operation. Apparently they were watching my house pretty closely. They now take a flash light and run it over my property 20-30 times a night multiple times a week. They sometimes sit at the end of my driveway in their car and just sit there. I captured the video and gave it to the police and I am waiting to be contacted by them. I would like to sue them. Not sure what type of attorney to go to. Can anyone recommned an attorney in the Atlanta metro area? Thanks!

I would wait to see what the police do first.

But you would want an attorney specializing in civil law.

Are you waiting on the city of Atlanta police ? If so, sorry but don't grow old waiting, City of Atlanta police will not even come out if someone breaks in your car, they give you a number to call and report it on the phone,

I caught a person who had broke into a car in my drive way, was holding him on the ground, after 35 minutes had to let him go, ( was getting tired) they showed up 4 hours latter because they were too busy.

You may need to take this evidence, and get a restraining and/or order of protection against them,

Sue then in court for cost of cleaning up the trash.

And get light proof curtains, so what if they waste their time shining a light in your yard.

Also put up a fence,

I seldom give personal recommendations of businesses, but if I was to hire an attorney in Atlanta,

Legal Links in the Forest Park area, I would not trust my legal needs with anyone else.

Thank You for your quick responses. I actually live in COBB county. If the police don't do anything, I will sue them for harassment and trashing my property. And if I can sue them for the cost of the surveillance system, that too. Unfortunately I can't put up a fence since my covenants prohibit fence past the back corners of the house. Besides, even if a fence was allowed it wouldn't help because they are shining it from a 2nd story window, all night long. My surveillance footage shows where it's coming from. I will have to find a civil attorney and sue their pathetic a___.
