The garage floor drain is clogged. All the other drains on the basement level are working fine. I noticed when I hosed the garage floor the water would not go down. Cast iron pipe was probably used in this house which was built in 1972. Do you think a snake would clear this or could I possibly be looking at a crush pipe.

I agree with Mark, most garage drains do not connect to anything but open air. I have opened many by jetting with a simple garden hose, lot of pushing and shoving

People keep telling me our 1967 house couldn't have a garage floor drain connected to the sewer, yet it it. It's a garage under. It backed up once years ago. Yours could be frozen? How about a little boiling water?

Can either of you see if your floor drain is trapped? If its trapped tehn it could be going to your sewer line, no trap and it most likely NOT going to the sewer.
