My husband was convicted of weapon in the 2nd degree in 2007 was sentence to 31/2 yrs with 5yrs post supervision. He was released June 4, 2010. I was able to visit every week to see him, but he gets released from prison and the nys parole says he can't have any contact with me, none at all. Their reason was that I had an order of protection on him in 2006 that was dissmissed in 2006. It's 7months now and I have not had any contact with him. He is working and living in an apartment paying rent, light and gas somewhere else when he could be paying mortgage at his own home. I really don't know what to do. I still feel like a single parent and still struggling w/o my husband. He can't even come to the house to shovel snow. It's been 3yrs 7months without him, and it's very hard. Plus I'm a disabled veteran. What can I do? Somebody please help us. (SAD AND CONFUSED)

What can I do? Somebody please help us. (SAD AND CONFUSED)Hello l:

They're WRONG... But, if you called them up and told they're WRONG, and you heard it from an exconvict on the internet, they'll hang up on you... You need a good lawyer, who can DO something about it.

I think an attorney could straighten this out fairly quickly. It sounds like they have some outdated information on the record.

There are no other reasons, correct, you are not a felon? That can absolutely be a condition of release, not to consort with felons (nothing personal ex).

I would say, get a certified copy of the record of the protection order and write a letter and give it to the attorney.
