I am trying to remember the title of a more recent movie that I saw. All I can remember is near the end during the final climax the world is in imminent danger of ending and the scene shows a colossal (interdimensional?) Cthulhu-like creature coming through the dark and cloudy sky and enveloping everything. I think I remember it retreating when the hero overcomes whatever the struggle.

Sorry this is so vague but I am completely blanking on anything else from the movie.
