Please help, I'm at a loss. We recently installed a new Hampton Bay ceiling fan. The switch on the wall works but the remote doesn't. It's extremely high up. We've ltried adjusting the dip switch in the remote in case the dip in the fan was different. We've had no luck with anything. We even got a different remote from our other Hampton fans and played with that dip switch to see if it would control it. Can anyone help before I have to call the electrician again? It's never worked at all. Thanks so very much.

1. Does the LED light up on the remote?

2. Does the fan have pullchains?

There is no pull chain and the remote does light up. Thank you

And you've made sure the dip switches are matching? Sounds like either it was hooked up wrong or you got a dud.

We tried the remote dip switches in different positions and "assumed" that with one of the tries we were matching the switches in the fan. I know, probably a bad thing. I have an electrician coming out in 2 days to look at it. The problem is, they have to build a small schaffle to put the ladder on it reach it. If the switches match I won't know what else to do. Should I buy another fan, just in case and have it there when he comes out? Thanks, so to ask.

Sure, as long as you have the receipts you can always return one, or both. And I would buy a better fan (Hunter, for example)
