Late by 10 days on one payment now have been informed that cards are cancelled. What happens next I have not hear anything in 3 weeks and have made more than the required monthly payment.

If they cancel the cards, you can not use them, so they will add a late fee for the late payment and will send you your bills till they are paid off.

Have you been late in the past ? Is there other credit issues on your credit report ( most likely the minute you were late they checked your credit to see if you were doing this with other cards)

OK yes a couple of times in the last year, I do not have any other issues on my credit report, it is in good order except for the amex payments. Have had down turn in business in the last couple of years and sometimes don't get paid on time.
