In our Central electric heating system, the thermostat started doing crazy things. When I would turn on the heat, the temperature would actually decrease according to the thermostat, yet the heat was working. This led me to believe that the thermostat was bad, so I had a new one put in. And now the same thing is happening. This time I felt the air coming from the vent nearest the heater (and the thermostat) and it was cold. So the cold air coming from that vent is making the temperature decrease near the thermostat but meanwhile its getting mighty hot in the rest of the house. So you have to manually turn the heater on and off. Anyone know what's causing this problem?
