I have heart pain on the left side of my chest (upper heart) next to my sternum. The pain lasts for anywhere from a few seconds to a minute. It happens a few times a week to a few times a day. The pain is a small sharp pain that kind of feels like I'm being stabbed and goes away when I stretch it or stand up. It doesn't hurt to breath when this happens or push on it. It actually helps to take a deep breath or apply pressure. Im almost 20 years old and this has been going on for about a year. My heart rate and pressure is both normal but the pain still scares me. I haven't seen a doctor because I would like to think its not a big deal. I smoke cigarettes but that's about it. I notice caffein kind of makes this problem worse. What's wrong?
