I was coming home from reading with me and 6 of my friends (All were drinking) I had half of a 4 loko (**** those things) on our way home we get stopped threw a dui checkpoint the cop claims he smells alcohol (the result of alcohol being spilt in the car) and asks if I had been drinking. Being scared to death I say no I have not and he asks me to step out of the car which I do where I proceed to do a breathalyzer and blew a .06 I did the 9 step test which I did stumble a little but it was freezing out side and I was scared and shaking and I tried the test the next day and still stumbled haha so my bad coordination didn't help out. I also did the one foot 20 second test and had to put my foot down once. I then did the finger on nose test. After sitting and waiting the officers wanted to search my car I told them they won't find anything (which they wouldn't have found alcohol) and from what my friends say they didn't search. I then get arrested while my underage friends get to go home. I'm 18 and was arrested once before for retail theft (of like an eyeliner) but that isn't on my record as far as I know. The only other thing is traffic violations. I really can't afford to loose my license because of work and school and I DO NOT WANT TO BE PUT ON PROBATION. I just need advice because I am extremely upset and don't know what to do It was the dumbest decision I have ever made and I am very well of the more extreme consequences that could've happened so I don't want criticism just ways to better my future!

Ever hear the saying, "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime!"

Its likely you will be placed on probation. You may even get a restriction on your license to only be able to drive to school and work. Your only chance is to get a good lawyer.

You will be on probation, most likely required AA or other program also.

You may only loose your license for a limited time.

I watch a lot of those cooking show competitions. I LOVE 'em. What blows me away though, is when the contestants say they WANT to win in the worst way, as though what they WANT has anything to do with it...

Of course, you don't WANT to be put on probation... I never WANTED to go to the joint either... In the final analysis, what I WANTED or could afford, didn't matter.
