View Full Version : How do I troubleshoot GE Gas Dryer K series valve /coils?

I have a GE Gas Dryer DDG7580BCLAD, the closest model that appears online is 7580GAL. The original problem was that the flame shut-off after 2 minutes of operation, I suspected the holding coil (it has the 3 coils). I bought a split coil kit with harness (WE4X560), installed it (everything looked identical, wire colors, coils, etc). Now, NO FLAME appears following the glowing of the ignitor. It seems like no gas is coming through the 2-step valve. I've been swapping the old coils in place of the new coils with the same results. I currently have the new holding coil installed along with the other two original coils. Going to work on it more tomorrow. I'm wondering if there is a trick to seating the coils on the valve stem, could the valve stem(s) be sticking. It would help if I had a schematic diagram but no luck. I appreciate any advice, thanks!
