I don't think I need it but my case worker is taking me to court to make me go.

Im 12 and I never understood why my parents kept sending me to therapy. But apparently I was really depressed and I didn't even know it until I began to wonder about cutting myself. Sometimes we don't realize these things but others do and all we can do is blame them for "unnecessary procedures" when actually they are helping. Maybe because you are a, pardon my saying this, a foster child some feelings might be trapped in you mind that you are expressing in an unlikely way but don't realize it. If I were you I would continue going and look at this experience as "the glass half full". It wouldn't hurt to try.
I really hope this helps you.

I wasn't able to find anything regarding VA but I'll tell you hunny- I grew up in the system and "therapy" was a part of every single placement I was in... and there were lots. I'm sure you've heard this before but- you got to "play the game" babe. Those people can be very useful in providing court recommendations as to future placements or even emancipation. Start looking at absolutely EVERYTHING in the light of what they can do to help you. Making friends instead of enemies will give you an upper hand I'm sure you could use. Hang in there in the mean time- I know it seems like time is just dragging on right now but you won't be a minor forever. It might sound crazy but I look back at my crazy foster care days with a smile. I met a lot of people- some good, some bad- and all in all- I'm happy being a person who has seen what many don't.. and found success anyway.
