My son is in love with a RC girl and the pressure is tremendous. The father of the girl is especially stubborn. We are flexible hindus and have our son's happiness in mind. He does not want to convert and the girl's father says it is not possible to have a church wedding without a baptism and the whole rigmarole. He insists on a church wedding or no wedding. It is emotional blackmail and a battle of ego. We are feeling trapped. We are in India. Do you have an answer?

That usually falls to the descretion and judgement of both the Priest of the church as well as the Bishop for that area.

They may require it... or they may not. But if you get married in that church you have to comply with what they require.

Example... I'm a protestant... I was married in a RC Church with the blessing of the Priest and the Bishop (had to get his approval as the priest was fine with it himself). Fast forward 15 years, different church different bishop same city... I was refused to be allowed to act as the Godfather to one of my Nephews by a different priest when I was asked by the parents because I wasn't Roman Catholic.

Thanks Smoothy. I am afraid it is going to be a hard task here. The priests of that particular church is rigid. We are waiting for a sign. Your answer is reassuring. There might be a change of heart this way or that. We have time till next November.

Unfortunately you are correct. Its going to be a hard task. Harder than the very real example I gave. At least I was a member of the same faith more or less. Im my case we were parts of diametrically opposed segments of the same faith. You will have a much harder task ahead of you than I did.
