Please help explain this simple equation to me

Solve for x

-x + 6 = 11

simple!

-x + 6 = 11
-x = 11 - 6
-x = 5
x = -5

check plug x back into original equation
-x+6=11
-(-5) + 6 =11
5 + 6 = 11
11 = 11

Two steps:

1. subtract 6 from both sides

2. divide both sides by -1

cool_dude, we try to help people, rather than do their work for them, in this case s_cianci's answer was much more appropriate. In future could you try to provide help rather than answers? :)
