My boss just called me and told me capital one sent me a garnishment. I never received anything stating I had to go to court? How can they do this?

Well, they can't... Read the garnishment order. It will tell which court it came from. You can go back to court and maybe get the thing put aside for a while... But, if you owe the money, they'll just do it all over again...

IF you manage to get it stopped, you'll be in a pretty good position to negotiate a better settlement than the judgment would have been..
