What is the difference between a Thermal Limiter and a Thermal Fuse in a Frigidaire electric Dryer?

In general terms, a "Thermal Limiter" is often a switch that shuts off the heat if the temperature gets to high. When the temperature cools, the switch will operate again and allow for more heat.

A "Thermal Fuse" is a device that senses a critically high heat temperature and opens to shut off the heat.

Once this occurs, the fuse will have to be replaced unless the fuse is designed to reset itself.

Generally speaking, a Thermal Fuse will operate to prevent a fire.
