How do I switch off the cold water supply to the washing machine with out having to swith off the main water supply

How do i switch off the cold water supply Follow the cold water hose back to the connection and turn the valve handle clockwise to shut it off. Good luck, Tom

Hi thanks, there is no valve handle just a screw and nut, tried turning the screw but not shutting off the water. Have taken the hose off and put a 10p in to stop the water. Thanks for your help though, much appreciated.
