I also have a Payne air conditioner which is blowing the 5 amp fuse but only in the heat mode. Sometimes it will run for a couple of hours or so before the fuse blows. Any ideas?

Fuse wire must be thicker of 3 times of running amphs. And also check for loose wiring. That is also main reason for fuse blown.
