I bought a Kenmore Bottom Freezer from Sears about 5 years ago. I cannot locate the drip pan. How do I get to it -and get it off-to clean it? {Yep, that's right-had it 5 yrs and never been cleaned} Also, the air that blows from either the back or bottom of the fridge {can't tell where exactly it comes from} has a terrible mildewy, rotten milk smell. I am assuming the air that blows, comes from the compressor kicking on? Anyway, how can I get rid of the smell, and where exactly is it coming from and WHY is it smelling this bad?! Sorry for all the questions, unfortunately I am not married to a "handyman". Thanks for the help!

The drip tray is most likely located behind the grill that runs across the bottom the unit. Some release by lifting, some release with a tab. Get a flashlight and look for the grill and see if there are tabs to release or just a friction fit onto plastic buttons. Remove the grill and the tray slides out. You will also probably find a lot of dust bunnies too. Vac them out with a crevice tool. Spilled stuff frommthe freezer when it defrosts runs down here so you are probably smelling food. However, I have found decapitated mice that got into the fan.
