Use the formula:
\frac{1}{f} = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{l}{g}}

Hi thanks for your reply could you please explain what I put into the formula and were I'm not very good at this sort of thing

Sure, the frequency is f,
pi is a constant, which is about 3.14
l is the length of the thread, in metres
g is the acceleration due to gravity, usually taken as 9.8 m/s^2
This gives:
\frac{1}{f} = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{0.6}{9.8}}
Solve for f :)

No, this is the value of 1/f.
\frac1f = 1.555
f = \frac{1}{1.555} = 0.643\ Hz
