I'm trying to hook up a new range. I have the older type fuses and would like to know if I can get 220 from 2 110 fuses and 2 60 amp fuses. Can this be done with a 4 wire? I've had this hooked up to my older range but the clock, light never worked. Oven quit working top burners still working. Hooked up new stove and the same thing I'm confused. Is it the wiring that's screwed or what?

You should have a 220 volt feed at about 40/50 amps ( not sure of your requirements) and a properly sized neutral and ground. You range controls will get 120 volts from on leg of the 220 and the neutral. If you only have 3 wires you will need to bond the oven. There is usually a small metal bonding strap from the neutral connection to the equipment frame. In all honesty (not trying to be rude) it sort of sounds like you might want to call an electrician.
