I am trying to spruce up my home and I am stuck on this bathroom.. Its our second bathroom and we don't use the tub. But I can't remove it. I was thinking maybe building seating or something.. Any ideas??

Why do you want to hide it? Is it in useable condition? If so, clean it up and make it part of your second bathroom. You never know when you might have guests and a second bathroom will come in real handy. If it doesn't work and you really want to hide, then make you a false front of wood or tile, top it with a wood seat and cover it with a cushion for seating. Although why anyone would want to sit in a bathroom is beyond me. You could build up a frame and make a storage cabinet out of the area.

I've heard of people painting tubs and tile. There is a special kind of paint you have to use. If you go to a hardware store, I'm sure someone can help you find it.

Another thing you could do is install casing over it. If it isn't a standard size tub you may have to have a custom case made for it. You can find the casing at Lowe's or Home Depot. There are also probably companies who build the custom ones too.

Any ideas on how to hide a ugly tub!? Lol
HOW UGLY IS IT? It's so ugly that we have to wear blindfolds to take a bath!
Enough of the bad jokes!
There are many things you can do to spruce up your tub. REfinish, tub relinere, etc. Tell us what you find so ugly ( discolored, chipped, rust stains. What? And what type of tub is it? Plastic, steel or cast iron.
Give us something to work with here. Cheers, Tom

The color is awful first of all.. lol I am wanting to replace the tub with a stand alone shower but I have to do a lot of plumbing work before that is possible. The placement of the tub is really strange. And it's a small bathroom. So I am looking for a quick fix just make it look a little better.. lol

If it's the guest bathroom I would leave a tub in there for resale value. It's okay to put a walk-in shower in the master bathroom but people with small children need to have a tub for bathing. I used appliance spray paint on the outside of my fiberglass tub/shower combo and it has held up just fine. There is a lot of overspray so everything will have to be covered with drop cloths.

If you just want to cover it for now and make the bathroon into a powder room. How about making it a closet add a wall and hang a curtain. And put some shelves in.
Then when you decide what exactly you'd like you only have to remove one wall.
