Have you painted before? If your having a problem with runs try backing away and allow more time for the paint to hit the surface. Also don't run it too dry either or you can lose the gloss. Have you used a viscosity meter yet to see if your running the recommended OEM way ?

Hi califdadof3 I have no experience with paint spray systems other than pressurepak cans that I used on small jobs. The paint from cans is fine and I can get a good result. But with this paint and electric gun it's like orange peel and if I try to put on more to get a smooth ( glossy) job It runs very badly. The mixture I used was 25% thinners. No I have not used a viscosity meter, do they cost much?

They are cheap. And you might try asking the manufacturer of the paint what they recommend. Then use that as a starting point.
