Water somehow gets into pan ( can feel all around under drain opening into pan-shower trap seems to be functioning o.k.) during daily brief < 10 minute shower.
Water leaked out the back over up over pan, rotting wood on side of house ( this repair found the pan sloshing with water after the shower ran for a few minutes) No evidence of water elsewhere i.e. crawl space nor front of shower.
And ideas how water gets to one side of pan( at least) and possible or potential remedies short of ripping out the entire shower.I am pretty sure is was not all that proberly installed around five years ago.Do not know if an adjustable drain with weeping holes is in place-nor if backer board not vapor barrier was ever installed.

Hi Dwolins...

Like you, I suspect that the weep holes are clogged in the drain assembly OR the drain that was installed didn't have any weep holes to begin with... *UGH*... and water is showing up at the LOW POINT of the shower pan and overflowing out the back... ;)

If water is in the pan and overflowing, most likely you are ripping the pan out and hopefully having someone do it 100% right this time!

You'll want to get three estimates and then consult with us here to make sure that the chosen contractor follows MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE STANDARDS... if not better!

Questions? Let us know, OK?
