I have gas powered SFC fire place model xDVR5-CMNS serial# 018813 and need to replace the gas control valve. I have tried to contact the company and they are out of business. Can someone tell me where I can get this part of if an alternative exists?

Thx

Excellent timing,

I have the same model Superior fire place unit. I have just started looking for a pilot light assembly
Or possibly just the flame sensor part of the pilot assembly. I've just started looking but I believe
That Lennox now ownes the Superior name and may be the parts supplier. Will let you know if
I find anything useful.

Slow down, I can't read. I have the xDVt-RMNS. I'll still let you know where I find parts.

I got my unit going by cleaning and adjusting the pilot burner. Thermocouple and thermopile were fine.
They just were not getting hot enough because the pilot burner was partially blocked and not providing
Enough heat. I didn't have to buy any parts.

I did confirm that Lennox absorbed the SFC brand (Superior Fireplace Corp. or just Superior)
Looks like the SIT 820 NOVA woukd have fit my unit, it's a common valve for millivolt systems
(Your serial number with the M in it is for Millivolt as opposed to E for Electronic)

Take a look at :

Give them a call, also look at E-bay.

You are looking at about $200 from a retailer, maybe $100 - 150 on E-bay.

For God's sake, unless you know exactly whaat you are doing and can properly
Adjust the valve after its installed, CALL in a PRO. A $100 service call charge
Is a lot cheaper than blowing up your house.

Good Luck
