It's NEVER a good idea to fraternise in this manner with a superior.

There can be serious consequences. If you do enter a relationship with your boss you are jeopardizing BOTH your jobs. If you really want to date her that bad you need to leave your job but I don't think it'd be worth it, It's best to not even pursue it.

Be extra cautious when it comes to office romance. If things don't work out, your situation at work can go downhill in a hurry.
I would say, just be her friend if possible. If you really want a romantic relationship, make sure you're either in a different department that is unrelated or be in a different company all-together.
You don't want to jepordize your job for something that might not work out.

It's funny how often we, me included, jump to answering the question the OP didn't ask, with good intention, without actually even answering the question they did ask.
Since you've been severely warned about the merits of office-dating, I'll pass on that and just address the question, "How do I know if my boss likes me"?
Take out the word "boss" and replace it with any female pronoun and the answer is probably still the same... you ask her.
Since she IS your boss, that may be awkward, but it's awkward you have to deal with. If she wasn't your boss, it would be awkward asking this to any girl, just awkward in other ways.
So, just tough it up and ask her in a way you hope won't cost you your job if the answer is "no".
You: "What's your position on coworkers dating?"
Her: "I don't know if it's a good idea or not, company policy is.....(blah blah)".
You: "No, I meant what is your position on you dating a coworker...?"

Ask her is she's happy with your work and leave it at that. Anything personal would be completely inappropriate as others have stated well already.
