View Full Version : Want to Lose weight but already exercizing

Im 16 and on the track team at my school so I work out 6 days a week for 2 1/2 hrs every day basically all the time I'm 5'1 and I feel like I'm just gaining weight I'm not overweight but it is very upsetting having the weight go up and up on the scale if anyone has any advice please

Well when I wanted to lose a few pounds I did the whole excerisizing thing. Which really helped it improved everything about me physically and mentally. I watched what I ate and I made sure I only had something small for breakfast and then chewed gum till dinner. It worked well and I had ended up losing 30 pounds and I was at my ideal weight. Then I went through a tramatic experience gained it all back then and I turned to alcohol and pot and cigarettes. In two weekes I have lost 20, I'm telling you this because I hope you realize the only true way to lose the wieght is strength, you must have it if you have to run in circles and go to the gym for two hours. Just keep going don't lose yourself. Set a goal. And don't get to skinny just really watch your appetite. Your stomach will shrink if you lower your food intake. Which will help you from binging. Stay strong and I hope you realize the only right way is through exercise and mental strength.

Eliza, remember that muscle weighs more than fat. Most likely your weight is going up because you are gaining muscle mass due to your exercise routine.

20 pounds in two weeks can't be accomplished safely. And starving yourself, which is essentially what you're doing if you only eat something small in the morning and a small dinner will ultimately slow your metabolism and make it harder for you to lose and maintain your weight in the future. Setting realistic goals and having self control when it comes to food is certainly important. But healthy, well balanced meals are also important.
