I was born with a mild pectus excavatum, although docs noticed when I younger they didn't treat it as it wasn't causing any problems, I have asthma but its not very bad and I have low lung capacity, sometimes out of the blue I get a sharp pain in my chest. I also get breathless eaisly during physical activity. For the past few weeks my asthma has been playing up, I have a tight chest and sometimes it hurts and I am regurly coughing. The docs can't seem to make it any better. I have had chest x-rays which came back clear and I have had numerouse blood tests for Pneumonia, whooping cough, and chest infections, and when the docters listened to my chest they said it sounded as though my breathing was being interrupted and it was not continuous, they said it sounded almost like a heart murmur but not quiet, what could this be could my pectus excavatum be causing this and should I go to a cardiologist?

You should go to a reputable pulmonologist. This is the side effect of poorly managed asthma. You have over used muscles in the chest. Go to a good MD they will help control your asthma.
