If you and other families have resided at a hotel for 1 to 2 years receiving mail and basically making your home, can new management come in and give you 6 to 10 days for everyone whose been there that time to move saying they are closing without giving you proper time to move but charcing you till the last day with no notice that is legal?

First, ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Second, it would depend on the designation of the building. If it was truly a hotel, then yes, you have no assumption of tenancy despite longevity of residence. Certain areas have special rules covering residential hotels and boarding houses.
