I have a chevy s10 1996 it needed a new fuelpump when me and my brother inherited it. It is a first car junker.. a very close friend of mine has offered to install this pump for me! I'm insanely grateful but I'm not xactly sure how much this would normaly clost a repair shop! And I want to pay him for the time he is putting into this for me! I usually can work on cars with a little help from my father but this seemed a little over my head.. . If you have an estimat iwould GREATLY aprreciate it..

Assuming he is not a registered mechanic I would simply ask him what his price is. Should he say he doesn't know then I would be fair, I would ask him how many hours he thinks it will take and then I would calculate that around $15.00 to $20.00 an hour.

Just a suggestion as pricing varies a lot.

I have to agree with stinger. He hit right on the nail. I would also say about 15 to 20 an hour.
