View Full Version : Rough in Basement Plumbing Question

Bought a house that had the ruff pluming in the floor of the base,ent but not sure what's what coming out of the floor have tow 3 inch pipes coming out of floor one at each end of the bath room area and one 2 pipe coming out of floor can you use a 3 inch pipe for a shower drain

I am trying to picture your question. It sounds like basement is not completed and you have pipes through the floors. It could be end of line cleanout and toilet rough in. Can you attach a picture. Thanks

Hi again, I didn't finish the last respond. Yes you can use a 3" drain for a shower drain. u could run the 3" trap arm to the trap then use a bell reducer to 2" to connect to your shr. drain if that is the situation.

or use a 3 by 2 drainaige fitting and extend with 2" trap arm rather than 3" trap arm to your shower drain. Make sure it is vented.
