The only thing to watch out for is the socket type and mobo spec. The Athlon 64 X2 series come in various flavours, some socket AM2 and some 939, so you need to make sure they are the same.
The rest of the architecture shouldn't care what CPU chip you have, as both of the processors you mention have the same socket type. The only thing to look out for is the spec / quality of the motherboard as you might end up putting an awesome CPU in, but bottlenecking it's abilities on the motherboard.
