I'm installing a kitchen ceiling light. All the whites are together and all the blacks are together and the light works, but doesn't work with the switch on the wall. There is a wire that obviously is for the switch, but I do not know which wires it goes to. Please help.

Because of the way you grouped the conductors you now need to go back and sort the wiring out.
Get a Multi Meter and set it on AC Voltage.
Sort the wiring into pairs of Black and White.
Now with the meter connect the black lead to one of the white leads. With the Red probe, find the black conductor that is 120 V.
Isolate that pair. Set the meter to Ohms. Place the black probe on another white and the red probe on the other black. Have someone turn the switch on and off, you should see the meter open and close with the switch.
Once you have the switch pair isolated, place electricians tape or color the white switch wire with the black tape or black ink (Sharpie).
Now turn the breaker off!
Connect the White (with black tape) to the Black source in the ceiling.
Connect the black from the switch to the fixture black. Connect the white from the fixture to the white from the supply pair. Finally connect the bare ground wires.
Place the conductors back into the ceiling box in this order. First: Ground Conductors. Next Neutral Conductors and Last Hot conductors.
Let us know if this helped you please.
