I'm 16 and my boyfriend is 20 I was not a virgin when we 1st had sex I had actually had sex 4 months before but I had sex with him for the 1st time on Novembe 2, 2010 and we had sex twice in one day. It when we 1st started and then it gradually felt better. After the 2nd time we had sex I realized I had a little bit of blood in my underwear with a little bit of clear discharge so I figured he popped my cherry. But we had sex again for the 3rd time on November 24, 2010 and it hurt again when we started but then it started to feel better. I didn't bleed that day but the next morning I woke up and I was bleeding and now I've been bleeding for 2 days and I thought maybe I was on my period but my period has always been irregular and I usually only have 3 periods a year and I had already had my 3rd period for the year in October 2010... is this something I should be concerned about if so what should I do because I do not see a ob/gyn doctor my parents don't even know I'm sexually active...

If you are just starting to be sexually active, kayla, there is lot you should know, and I hope that you two are using a condom. Perhaps you should be gong on birth control, perhaps you should be talking to a doctor about this. Would your mom be receptive to this and would you be able to talk to her ?

I can't explain the bleeding. I could explain it if the sex was rough and you weren't prepared beforehand (too dry) and that would mean a few lesions on your vaginal wall which would be normal. It would appear as a bit of fresh red blood and would go away soon.

The fact that you only have three periods a year could possibly be the reason for the bleeding for two days. Normal menstruation is every 28 days.

Please take precautions when having sex. It may not always be with the same partner and you should be aware of STDs and of course, pregnancy at l6 or l7 would not really be a pleasant happening if you wanted to continue your education without being tied down with a family.

Good luck, kayla, see if you can approach your mom, and please see a doctor asap.
