If my girlfriend and I had a baby, but we are not married, and I am on the birth certificate, do I have the right to take my baby and leave my house, do I have that right without having to worry about getting in legal trouble. My girlfriend doesn't like my family and I want to take my baby to see them without having to worry about her calling the police on me. Overall I need to know if I have any basic rights without going to court to get my rights.

She can always of course call the police, but if you are on the birth certificate and there is no custody order from the court, yes you may take your child with all the same rights as the mother can.
If you are living together, looks like time for marriage couseler,
If you are not married, I would go and file for a court order for joint custody , or at least for specific visits times you can take the baby for periods

If you are on the birth certificate you are the legal father with equal rights. This doesn't mean you can take the child out of state or for overnights without permission of the mother. But if you want to take her to your parents for an afternoon, that shouldn't be a problem. Keep a copy of the birth certificate with you in case she does call the police.

You have rights to take her to see your family. Unless you have a court order not too or you are putting your child in danger. Meaning your family are sex a fenders, drug attacks, selling drugs etc. Now you know that taking your child over to your family's home for what ever reason upsets the mother of your child. So why must you do it? Stop it if your family wants to see your child maybe the mother would feel better if you and your family spent time with her at let say the Mall, McDonalds, playetc. A public place. "You may say my girlfriend does not want me to take my child near my family at anytime" and then again I will say why must you do it? Are you paying child support? Do you have a standard order of visitation?
