I just acquired a 7 month old pup that was being raised by a breeder. The breeder had 8 dogs and was going to keep this one ,but the breeders health is failing, so she is unloading her dogs.

I think the dog was loose in the kitchen with all the other dogs, and had free access to outside. The breeder had the dogs "litter box" trained.

So, now, at night, she urinates and poops in her crate, which is just large enough for her to turn around and lay down. I tried putting her bedding on the floor in the laundry room where she is confined, and a " litter box" in the room. She did poop in the box, but still urinated on her blanket.

During the day, she is much better, had only one accident.

Any ideas?

Hm.. The blanket now had a urine smell, you can't smell it but she can. Every time you wash it she feels the need to mark it continuously. Take the blanket out, just put her in the crate. Make sure she's walked, 20 min goes by, walk her again. Then put her up for the night. Get her out early the next morning and walk her again. Keep doing this until she doesn't potty at all in her crate. Theeenn introduce the bedding, bedding she doesn't NEED to mark again. Try newspaper while your training her. Goodluck!
