View Full Version : How to fix huge issues on my credit report

I found several items on my report and they are preventing me from a mortgage loan.. I've explained this to 2 loan officers and no one will help me. What do I do about the this?

JC Penney is on the report twice. Both entries are for the same account number opened on the same date. One is 418 dollars and one is 48 dollars. I have been paying the account through the DMP and I would assume the entry for 48 dollars is indicative of that action. (I have proof of the payments). What can a person do to prove the higher amount is erroneous? You simply can not have two separate balances on the same account opened on the same day.

2. Credit One Bank and LVNV have the same account number. I have been paying Credit One Bank through the DMP and have proof of the payments. LVNV is a collection company. How can I have two different dollar amounts for essentially the same debt? I have no problem writing a check to Credit One Bank, but I will not pay the same debt off twice if I can help it. Furthermore, LVNV did not extend credit to me, so I really shouldn't owe them anything.

3. A car loan with Suntrust. I DID NOT default on that loan. I paid that car off entirely and received the title. No collector or "re-po" representative phoned me or sent any correspondence. It was the LAST payment being reported as "collections". Two credit agencies have it correct. What can I do to restore the correct fact that I paid that vehicle off in full. In fact, my separated husband is driving it now because I gave it to him in May.

4. The items that are showing "paid" or "closed", should they be present on the report? Is it okay for them to be there? As I pay off accounts, shall I request the creditor report the paid status to the three bureaus?

I would really appreciate any help I can get. I also lost 89 dollars with NCC who have done NOTHING for me, but take me for a ride!

Thanks
